I need to update my site here. Last time I wrote was before my run. Well, I had a wonderful time at the run. I am looking forward to doing it again.

Last week my family went to Virginia for a Yoder reunion. We had it at my uncle Willie's place. We had the best time. They rented a tent which really worked out nice as we had quite a bit of rain over the wk/end.

  • Do It, Then Talk

I have struggled with weight issues for the last (too many) years. Well, my sister told me about a lady who talked on focus on the Family about her weight loss journey and how she is now a marathon runner/ fitness trainer after losing 200+ lbs. Well. Granted I didn't need to lose that much but I was inspired to buy her book and read her story. She said she heard God telling her that she was not being the best she could be--He created her for more. Well, she was so excited she told her husband what God had said. Her husband's reply was: "Babe, just do it and THEN talk."

Now, I can relate.I am so famous for starting something and then not finishing.SO. I really really wanted to tell ya'll how I was training for my first 5K and all, but I decided that this time it is gonna be different.I am going to train and then talk. I turned the big 4-0 last year and decided now is as good a time as ever to turn over a new leaf .I also have family history of breast cancer so exercise can only be a good thing in preventing that.

So... In January I started running/ training with my dear friend, Ann. Tonight at 7PM is the race. I'm both scared and excited.

  • Trust

This has been a rather scary week. To put it in a nutshell--Jason was sick with some unknown sickness. He had low-grade fever,head-aches,achy muscles, and fatigue. Stranger yet is that this is like the third time since Christmas that he's been sick. He was to the doc's on Wednesday and they thot it was flu. He was worse the next day with severe muscle pain in his arms, stomach muscles and calves. We spent a good part of our day at the ER wheere they did bloodwork, ruled out flu, mono, leukemia( because of his blood counts being so good)and meningitis..

So, yeah. The  docs are puzzled. We were back at the doctors on Saturday morning and then again today. This morning they took more blood for testing for Lymes disease. This is so scary but I am trying to take one day at a time. We have been almost overwhelmed by the love and concern from so many friends and family. Please keep praying for him.So many things to be thankful for.He woke up this morning with the muscle pain gone and he hasn't had fever since Saturday or so.Also, his blood white cells and hemoglobin, etc. were so good when they tested at the hospital that the doc said he just doesn't understand unless it is something viral (Sp?).

I'm thankful I know the One who created my son and that He loves him even more than I. I thot about how hard its been to see my son in so much pain and feel so helpless, and then had to think of how much more horrible it was for God to watch His Son in so much pain and HE could've done something about it--except He loved me so much that He turned His face away.

I serve an awesome Father. I'm glad He loves me and my son.

This is Josh and Jason--Easter Sunday at my sister's place for pics.
